Arnos Vale Cemetery

I have just spend a very interesting afternoon in a cemetery!  Arnos Vale Cemetery is in Bristol and was opened in 1837.  The site now covers 45 acres and 300,000 people are buried there. Unfortunately some years ago the site was allowed to seriously deteriorate - however, it was rescued and now the Arnos Vale Cemetery Trust are gradually, with the help of volunteers, to restore footpaths and to remove Ivy and Brambles.  I went on a tour of the graves of some celebrated Bristolians who helped to make our city famous over the past 170 years.
