Goldney Gardens

On Friday 14th June,. some of us from Kingswood P.S visited Goldney Gardens in Clifton, Bristol.
It was a wet dull evening, and whilst a few pictures were taken, this is the only one worth showing to you!   It shows the Tower which was built in 1764, was intended for Thomas Goldney’s Fire Engine. Steam power was used to pump water from the well supplying the cascade in the grotto and the fountain in the canal.   The Statue is Hercules.
(clouds inserted!) There is a fantastic Grotto filled with shells and a statue of Neptune, but tripods would have been required to do it justice.
